For several days, the main page of the HWBot database has been mostly painted in “red”, and today is no exception: the Chinese overclocker Takukou scored a gold medal in the rank of the fresh Radeon RX 6800 XT video card, and the Italian enthusiast cnzdrn climbed to the first place in the rank of the 4-core Phenom II X4 960T BE.

Let’s start with the great result of the Chinese. Takukou did not wait for custom samples of fresh AMD graphics adapters and chose a reference copy of the Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card for his research.

Changing the cooling from an air cooler to liquid nitrogen, the enthusiast was able to conquer the rather large 2800 MHz on the GPU. It is worth clarifying that even taking into account the use of liquid nitrogen, this is an extremely successful overclocking for reference.

Nevertheless, as we have already mentioned, with the arrival of non-reference samples, the situation should change, and perhaps AMD cards will be able to conquer the 3000 MHz mark so coveted by most overclockers for the GPU.

But back to the record: Takukou was able to get the graphics card to function stably at 2800/18000MHz (GPU/MEM) and successfully completed the 3DMark – Fire Strike benchmark with 48890 points. This result brought the enthusiast from China gold in the Radeon RX 6800 XT rank, as well as the first place among any single-chip video cards!

The Takukou test setup consisted of the following components:

  • Processor – AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-core chip overclocked to 5600MHz (+ 64.71% to the base frequency);
  • Motherboard – MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE;
  • RAM – a set of two 8GB G.SKILL Trident Z Royal sticks.

Now let’s move on to the Italian overclocker’s achievement:

Cnzdrn chose a more proven platform and processor for its experiments. A year ago, the Italian already set records in the Phenom II X4 960T BE rank, but apparently, the enthusiast decided that he was able to improve his own results and did not lose.

Like last time, Cnzdrn used liquid nitrogen as a cooling system, as well as the same top motherboard GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD7. This “setup” again allowed the overclocker to break the 6GHz mark and overclock the processor to 6133MHz. Nevertheless, last year the Italian reached about the same frequencies, however, for some reason, he did not test the chip in the HWBOT x265 Benchmark – 4k. This time, Cnzdrn successfully completed this test with 2.075 fps. This brought the enthusiast first place in the rank of the Phenom II X4 960T BE processor, as well as a gold medal in the 5-core rank:
