On January 10, it became known that Xiaomi began closed testing of version 12 of its MIUI firmware. And already yesterday, a preliminary list of the company’s smartphones that will have to get a new face in the second half of 2020 was published :
Xiaomi Mi Note 10, Mi Note 10 Pro, Redmi K20, Mi 9T, Redmi K20 Pro, Mi 9T Pro, Redmi K30, Redmi Note 6, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7s, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi 7A, Mi 8 Pro, Mi 8, Mi 8 Lite, Mi Mix 3, Mi Mix 2S, Mi 9 Pro, Mi 9, Mi 9 Lite, Mi Play, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8T, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, and Mi Mix Alpha.
It is possible that this list is also completed by some top models of the Redmi 5 line. However, it can only be said that, for example, the state employee Redmi 5A will remain on MIUI 11 and will not receive an update to MIUI 12.
By the way, some users of Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A3 smartphones, for some reason, mistakenly believe that their devices should also receive a new MIUI 12 shell, but this is not the case. Mi A2 and Mi A3 operate on “pure” Android and are included in the “Android One” program. Based on this, they should expect only a new version of Android 10. Moreover, it has already been released on Xiaomi Mi A2.
According to preliminary data, the new version of MIUI 12 firmware will bring further changes in the appearance of the graphical shell, several new functions and applications, and will also become a little faster than its predecessor.
