The last words in the title of this news story are true. Judge for yourself: the last significant result on the AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE processor was published a little over 10 years ago. And here it should be noted that we are talking about more or less popular disciplines, such as, for example, wPrime – 32m or its heavier version wPrime – 1024m.

It is in these two disciplines that unityofsaints distinguished itself today, setting two records in the current CPU rank of the old AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE:

In the case of wPrime – 32m, the chip operated at 5749 MHz, and the result was 6 seconds, 281 milliseconds:

In the more complex discipline wPrime-1024m, the chip frequency dropped by a little more than 100 MHz and amounted to 5625 MHz, with 3 minutes, 25 seconds and 438 milliseconds:

The Australian test setup consisted of the following components:

  • Motherboard — GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P
  • RAM — one Corsair Dominator DDR2 of unknown model
  • Video card – GIGABYTE GeForce GT 710

Below, thanks to the posted photos, you can personally assess how the Australian workplace looked like:

In addition to the photo, unityofsaints also posted a very cute and entertaining meme that is directly related to the chip he uses:

In short, it can be described as follows: only old people remember the last record on AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE. Indeed, this chip was designed for the AM2+ platform. It does not support DDR3, its revision is limited to the relatively unsuccessful and hot C2, and in general, at one time the Phenom II X4 940 BE was not very popular among enthusiasts. On the other side, it gained very strong popularity among economical users, because it allowed breathing new life into an old computer based on the AM2+ connector for a small price.
