NVIDIA's rumored GeForce RTX 3090 could pack 24GB of GDDR6X memory and cost $1399, making it significantly pricier than its predecessor.
Previous reports suggest NVIDIA is set to unveil its GeForce RTX 3000 series graphics cards on September 1st. While fans of the 'green team' eagerly await, the internet continues to churn out new rumors about the potential specs of individual GPUs.
Today, on the Chinese forum chiphell, a user named Wjm47196 (who has a track record of accurate leaks) shared a fresh batch of information. The GeForce RTX 3090's GPU is rumored to come with a hefty 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM, with the standard card costing buyers $1399. That's nearly $200 more than NVIDIA's current flagship, the RTX 2080 Ti. What's more, the GeForce RTX 3090 'Founders Edition' will reportedly demand an additional $100, pushing the price to $1499! Custom non-reference models, starting at $1399, could easily exceed $2000.
Earlier leaks indicated the GeForce RTX 3090 would come equipped with a GA102-300-A1 GPU. This GPU is rumored to feature 5248 CUDA cores. Beyond that, details on the GPU's clock speeds, TMUs (texture mapping units), and ROPs (render output units) are currently scarce.
