A recent BIOS update, bundled with Intel's latest Arc drivers, gives the Arc A380 a 7.5% GPU clock speed bump. This could translate to better performance in professional applications.
Intel Arc's latest drivers, "Graphics Driver 31.0.101.4644 (WHQL Certified)", aren't just about the significant performance boost in DirectX 11. They also pack other equally important improvements.
The "blue giant's" (Intel's) current software includes BIOS updates for certain graphics cards, specifically the Arc A380. So, when you update your driver to Intel Arc Graphics Driver 31.0.101.4644, the software will notify you that a new BIOS version is available for your device. While this is a fairly standard procedure, after completing the update, one Arc A380 owner, known as Eternal Tempest, noticed, that their GPU frequencies had jumped by 7.5%, going from 2000 to 2150 MHz.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThis GPU clock speed bump likely won't translate to significant gains in gaming, as the card's primary bottleneck remains its data bus width. However, for certain tasks, particularly in professional software, Intel Arc A380 owners might see a performance uplift comparable to the frequency increase.
The bigger question is whether more powerful cards, like the Intel Arc A750 or Arc A770, will also receive a similar BIOS update with higher frequencies. Only time will tell.
