I would like to note right away that patches for the RPCS3 emulator are not a pure panacea. The RPCS3 developers use them more as stubs for problems, solutions to which, for one reason or another, have not yet been found. Nevertheless, these “stubs” can often bring a rather noticeable increase in emulation performance, or even allow you to start a game that has not been launched before, or that crashed with errors.

This material is made in order not to constantly describe the routine and monotonous method of installing a patch in future guides, but simply refer to this note.

The entry is over. Let’s go directly to installing the patch:

Update September 15, 2020:

Since the version of the emulator RPCS3 v0.0.12-10891-6540393d Alpha | HEAD, installing patches is straightforward. In order to download new patches, you need to do the following: Start the emulator, go to the “Manage” menu, then select the “Game Patches” sub-item in it:

Next, click on the “Download latest patches” button located at the very bottom of the window:

And if you did everything correctly, then you will receive a similar message below:

This means that everything went fine. The patches have been downloaded and you can proceed to their application.

In addition, if you are lost in the abundance of the presented fixes, then just check the box next to the “Only shows owned games” parameter and the program will limit the demonstration of patches only to the games available (installed on your emulator) to you:

The old way:

Patch 1.2 testing was carried out on the version of the RPCS3 emulator v0.0.11-10694-609182b1 Alpha. This is a very important detail, because for both old and newer RPCS3 releases, version 1.2 of the patch may not work.

Take this into account, and do not forget that the emulator developers update their program code quite often. If the patch below does not work with your version of the emulator (provided that your RPCS3 release is newer than the one listed above) – write about it in the comments to this material and I will definitely update this guide.

You can download patch 1.2 from the link below:

Update September 5, 2020. A new version of patch 1.3 is available:

After downloading, you need to unpack the archive and copy the resulting file to the “patches” folder located on the following path: “Emulator \ RPCS3 \ patches”

Next, you need to start the emulator and go to the “Manage” => “Game Patches” tab:

Next, you need to find out the BCES / BLES code and the version of your game and select it in the “Patch Manager” window that opens:

If you did everything correctly, now you have the opportunity to further customize and optimize the games The Last of Us, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, as well as many other games! For example, in the “Game Patches” section, you can remove frame rate restrictions for projects such as NieR Replicant and Demon’s Souls.

In the following articles, I will try to briefly describe the patch settings for The Last of Us and the Uncharted series. Stay with us!
