As it turns out, the latest Intel Arc graphics card drivers “Graphics Driver 31.0.101.4644 (WHQL Certified)” besides significant performance improvements in API DirectX 11 have other, no less important improvements.

Latest software from the blue giant contains a BIOS update for some graphics cards, in particular for the Arc A380 model. So, when updating the graphics card driver to Intel Arc Graphics Driver 31.0.101.4644, software informs the user that a new BIOS version is available for his device. And all would be nothing, because this is quite a typical procedure, however, after completing the last one, one of the owners of the videocard hiding under the nickname Eternal Tempest noticed that the GPU frequencies increased by 7.5%: from 2000 to 2150 MHz.

The test graphics adapter was a model from ASRock.

This increase in GPU clock frequency should not bring significant dividends in gaming projects, because the main limiting factor of this videocard is the data bus width. Nevertheless, in some tasks (primarily professional software), owners of Intel Arc A380 can get a comparable performance gain to the clock speed increase.

However, another thing is curious: will higher-performance graphics adapters like Intel Arc A750 or Arc A770 get a similar BIOS update with increased frequencies? Time will tell.
