The authoritative insider hiding under the nickname Rogame again delighted the public with new leaks about the performance of the top 10-core Intel Core i9-10900KF processor. According to a Twitter post, in the 3DMark – Time Spy benchmark, the unlocked Intel chip was able to come close to the 12-core processor of AMD rival Ryzen 9 3900X:

Below are the scores of all tested systems:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (DDR4-3800 / 32GB) – 13650 points
  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (DDR4-3400 / 32GB) – 13193 points
  • Intel Core i9-10900K (DDR4-2666 / 64GB) – 13142 points
  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (DDR4-3200 / 32GB) – 12857 points
  • Intel Core i9-10900KF (DDR4-2400 / 16GB) – 12412 points

As you may have noticed, the speed of RAM varies greatly between the test systems. However, it should be understood that most likely, this experiment was conducted “on what was and in the shortest possible time.” Considering that the “blue giant” processors tend to support a much higher frequency of RAM, we can already say that Intel chips will once again be slightly ahead in gaming projects due to a higher core/RAM frequency.

But here it will not do without a fly in the ointment. According to some sources, with slightly better performance per core, Intel processors will also be much hotter than competing chips. This puts enthusiasts in front of a rather difficult dilemma: moderate power consumption by AMD or + 5-10% to the performance from Intel.

We will learn more about the new 10th Gen Intel Core chips in April.
