Next week, October 7, Intel will officially announce its 10th Gen Core-X series high-performance desktop chips. The processors, codenamed Cascade Lake-X, will use the Skylake architecture, manufactured using an improved 14nm process.
And the most amazing thing is that they will be much cheaper than their predecessors.
The cost per core will drop almost to the level of the second generation AMD Threadripper processors!
In addition, the new CPUs will be able to boast support for higher performance DDR4 2933MHz memory right out of the box. In addition, Cascade Lake-X processors can work with 256GB of RAM now.
The new series also supports Intel Performance Maximizer, 2.5G Intel i225 Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6. The entire top 10 Gen platform will support up to 72 PCIe lanes.

Judging by the preliminary data, the number of cores / threads will not change, the frequencies will grow insignificantly, but the price will literally collapse.
Obviously, it is necessary to wait for confirmation of this information from Intel itself. But such a reduction in price looks quite logical, especially in light of the imminent release of competitive “third-generation Ripper”.
According to the blue giant’s plans, the announcement will take place on October 7, and the new processors will go on sale in November.
