Intel will announce Cascade Lake-X processors on October 7. They'll be significantly cheaper, support faster DDR4-2933 MHz memory, and 256 GB RAM. Sales begin in November.
Next week, on October 7, Intel will officially announce its 10th-gen Core-X series high-performance desktop chips. Codenamed Cascade Lake-X, these processors will utilize the Skylake architecture, manufactured on an improved 14nm process.
The biggest surprise? They'll be significantly cheaper than their predecessors.
The cost per core will drop almost to the level of AMD's second-gen Threadripper processors.
Beyond that, the new CPUs will boast support for faster DDR4 2933MHz memory out of the box. Cascade Lake-X processors will also now support up to 256GB of RAM.
The new series also supports Intel Performance Maximizer, 2.5G Intel i225 Ethernet, and Wi-Fi 6. The entire 10th-gen HEDT platform will offer up to 72 PCIe lanes.

⤢ ВІДКРИТИBased on preliminary data, core/thread counts won't change, frequencies will only see minor bumps, but the price will plummet.
Naturally, we'll need to await official confirmation from Intel. However, such a price reduction seems entirely logical, especially given the impending release of competitive third-gen Threadripper CPUs.
According to the blue giant's plans, the announcement will happen on October 7, with new processors hitting shelves in November.
