AMD will announce the Radeon RX 5500 on October 7. This new budget graphics card, featuring GDDR6 memory and RDNA architecture, aims to compete with NVIDIA's GTX 1660.
Recently, rumors circulated online about new Radeon RX 5500 and RX 5300 cards. We didn't take them seriously, as a rebrand of the old RX 500 series seemed highly plausible.
However, it seems the upcoming RX 5500 graphics cards are indeed new solutions, designed to challenge NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1660 in the budget segment.
According to the reliable source Videocardz.com, the Radeon RX 5500 will come in two variants: 4GB or 8GB of GDDR6 video memory. Both will feature a 128-bit bus. This is quite an interesting move. If AMD is putting GDDR6 memory on budget graphics cards, it likely means the cost has dropped significantly since its initial release.
NVIDIA indirectly hints at this as well with its upcoming GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, which is also rumored to launch in October (specifically, October 29th) and will feature upgraded GDDR6 memory.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe AMD Radeon RX 5500 chip will be based on RDNA architecture and feature 22 CUs, resulting in 1408 stream processors. Preliminary clock speeds for the new card are 1645 MHz boost. However, this applies only to the mobile RX 5500M. Desktop versions will undoubtedly have higher clocks.

The AMD Radeon RX 5500 should cost under $200, making it a very attractive option for budget-conscious gamers.
