The lack of any marketing and mediocre performance of the 16 GB GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card played a cruel joke with the novelty: the demand among potential consumers of mainstream graphics adapters turned out to be critically low. Most likely, it was the weak sales of GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB that prompted German retailer Mindfactory to reduce the price of the graphics card below MSRP (manufacturer’s recommended retail price).
Right now, MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Ventus 3x is on sale at Mindfactory for 519 €, which is 30 € lower than its starting price of 549 €. If this experiment is not successful, then with NVIDIA’s encouragement (or even without it) stores will have to reduce the selling price even more seriously. It cannot be ruled out that in a few months the price of 16 gigabyte “Ti” will drop to 499 euros or even lower.
Taking into account the combination of such factors as performance and price of the videocard, plus the presence on store shelves a huge fleet of previous generation devices, it becomes abundantly clear that the only way to increase sales of GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB is a significant price correction. Most likely, it will happen in the near future.
Nevertheless, it cannot be excluded that this promotion may be just an in-house initiative of one store. However, even in this case, it indicates that Mindfactory specifically is not satisfied with the current sales of GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB.
This is the second NVIDIA graphics card that failed to win the market and the hearts of consumers. It should be reminded that before that, RTX 4070 Ti boasted a similar, peculiar anti-record.
