Microsoft and Sony will release their consoles in a little more than a year, and it is quite clear that the eminent developers have already received their devkits.
For example, the journalists of the WccfTech portal recently fished out grains of information from Crytek (the developer of the very famous Crysis). The company is set to release its new project, Hunt: Showdown, on PS4 and Xbox One soon, and most likely on next-gen consoles.
Sony and Microsoft have confirmed that their next PlayStation and Xbox consoles will launch in fall 2020 and we already know some of the specifications, such as AMD Zen 2 / Navi architectures, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, support for resolutions up to 8K and 120fps, and specially designed solid-state drives that should much reduce boot times.
What do you think of these early specs? Can we expect “revolutionary” games thanks to these new consoles or just “evolutionary” games?

The real game-changing innovation will certainly be the promised new fast storage (SSD).
In addition to the obvious advantage of reducing load time, this will open up quite a few possibilities for games that constantly load something into RAM (for example, open-world games: GTA, and so on). This is a direction that game engines will have to take off pretty quickly, but it’s definitely exciting.
Crytek
Judging by the answer, Crytek is also waiting for the next generation consoles to quickly begin to master the advanced features of it filling.
And the fact that the German studio is able to master powerful hardware is more than believable.
