Israeli overclocker shar00750 set a CPU clock speed record in the CPU Core i7-9700KF rank:

In general, apart from the achievement itself, there is nothing special about this gold. Indeed, in the Core i7-9700KF rank, only two overclockers are fighting: shar00750 and the owner of the last record noppon1412. Nevertheless, the frequency of the processor turned out to be rather high, and in general, it is difficult to achieve records in the frequency discipline.

Of the overclocking features, I would like to note that the CPU had 5 of 8 cores disabled. It is difficult to judge whether such overclocking is legitimate or not. We have what we have.

The test setup consisted of the following components:

  • Motherboard – Asus ROG MAXIMUS XI APEX (BIOS version 0093 (03/18/2019))
  • RAM – 2 x 8GB rails from Team Group Inc. (DDR4-2137) P/N: TEAMGROUP-UD4-3200
  • Video card – GIGABYTE GeForce GT 1030
  • SSD – KINGSTON SV300S37A60G (FW: 505ABBF1)
  • Operating system – Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 (0x4F) 64-bit

There is another interesting feature of this result. In a commentary on his record, the Israeli answered one of the questions posed to him – how many CPUs did he go over to achieve the record. To which shar00750 replied:

One 😁 I got it from RMA instead 8700k that was died .

Accordingly, after unsuccessful experiments, the Core i7-8700K processor died and Intel sent another CPU to replace it, the Core i7-9700KF.
