Today it became known that the annual conference of Google I/O, which was focused on software developers, as well as discussion and development of open technologies and Google services, was canceled due to the growing threat of the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.

The company has already informed its partners that all those who applied back in January will be able to receive a refund of the money spent on paying for tickets and associated travel expenses.

Due to concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and in line with WHO and other health authorities’ health guidelines, we have decided to cancel the physical Google I/O event at the Shoreline Amphitheater.

However, Google is already looking for solutions to the current situation and, according to the announcements, is still planning to host an I/O conference this year.
