AMD is currently preparing a BIOS update for its partners among motherboard manufacturers. The new firmware will be designed to improve the performance of Ryzen 3K series processors after overclocking.

AMD is delighted that 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen processors are highly popular with enthusiasts and gamers alike. We’ve been closely monitoring our product reviews and understand that some 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen users are reporting lower overclocked clock speeds.

The overclocked processor frequency depends on many factors, including workload, PC configuration, and cooling system. With this in mind, we studied user reviews and identified an issue in our firmware, which in some situations can reduce the overclocking frequency. We are currently preparing a BIOS update for our motherboard manufacturer partners to address this issue and provide additional performance optimizations.

On September 10th we will provide the community with updated BIOS availability information
