Leaks reveal a powerful AMD Radeon RX graphics card that beats the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti by 17%. This is likely Big Navi.
Just a few hours ago, a powerful AMD graphics accelerator was spotted online. The leak came from a user on the reddit subreddit. They noticed a rather interesting result in the OpenVR GPU Benchmark database:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe unknown AMD Radeon RX graphics card was benchmarked alongside the recently announced AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor (8 cores, 16 threads) and proved to be 17% faster than NVIDIA's top-tier GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.
Specifically, a comparison in the CyubeVR test (at 1512x1680 resolution) using an HTC Vive MV HMD (90 Hz) shows the unknown AMD GPU scored 103.32 FPS, while the RTX 2080 Ti managed "only" 88.10.
It's highly likely we're seeing the first leaks of what the press calls the "NVIDIA Killer" chip, or in other words, the Big Navi GPU, which Lisa Su herself recently mentioned:
At the recent CES 2020, AMD's CEO promised that high-performance Radeon RX GPUs, based on the RDNA architecture, would launch this year.
However, don't expect official information about this graphics card anytime soon. Its announcement, and possibly even release, is likely planned for the next major exhibition, Computex 2020.
