Back in 2010, AMD introduced and then released the first affordable six-core processors in the desktop segment. And the hero of this news article – AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE for some time became the flagship in the new line of the company.

Australian overclocker unityofsaints armed with just such a processor and overclocked it with liquid nitrogen, set a series of records in the Phenom II X6 1090T BE rank.

Let’s start with a not very significant, but very impressive result – with overclocking the processor:

unityofsaints was able to conquer a very pleasant frequency for a 6-core crystal at 6859MHz

But, unfortunately, this was only enough for third place. However, the enthusiast did not despair and by slightly lowering the frequency he was able to get as many as three first places in the disciplines SuperPi – 32M, SuperPi – 1M, and PiFast:

All three gold were mined in the six-core CPU rank, however, each of them brought good dividends to its owner. In general, updating records on such old CPUs deserves special attention.

unityofsaints is one of the few overclockers who describe the components used for the records in sufficient detail. And this time was no exception.

The test setup of the Australian enthusiast consisted of the following components:

  • Processor – Phenom II X6 1090T BE
  • Motherboard – Asus Crosshair IV Extreme
  • RAM – Corsair 2 x 2GB CMGTX2
  • Video card – GIGABYTE GeForce GT 710
  • Solid-state drive – ADATA SU650 (FW: V8X01c45)
  • Power supply – Corsair on 1,500 watts
