MMORPG TERA Online finally gets a 64-bit client and DirectX 11 support, improving performance but significantly raising system requirements.
The popular MMORPG TERA Online finally got its long-awaited 64-bit client and support for DirectX 11 with the major v97 update rolling out to official European servers.
These changes significantly boost performance and stability during large-scale battles, something players have eagerly awaited. However, this long-sought optimization also comes with a notable bump in system requirements:
OS - Windows 7 (64-bit)
CPU - Intel Core i3-7100 / AMD Ryzen 3-1200
GPU - GeForce GTX 760 / Radeon R9 280
RAM - 8GB
Storage - 80GB
OS - Windows 10 (64-bit)
CPU - Intel Core i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 7-1700
GPU - GeForce GTX 970 / Radeon RX 380
RAM - 12GB
Storage - 80GB
For comparison, here are TERA Online's old system requirements:
OS - Windows 7 (32-bit)
CPU - Intel Core i3-2130 / AMD FX-4130
RAM - 4GB
GPU - GeForce 9800 GT / Radeon HD 3870
Storage - 45GB
OS - Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64-bit)
CPU - Intel Core i5-3570 / AMD FX-6350
RAM - 8GB
GPU - GeForce GTS 450 / Radeon HD 4890
Storage - 55GB
It's worth noting that the game's graphics haven't really changed. This makes such a significant jump in system requirements, to put it mildly, quite puzzling.
As a reminder, TERA Online's CIS servers shut down completely back in June 2020, so the game is now only available on the GameForge platform.
