STH-Patrick set an absolute record with two AMD EPYC 7742 server processors in Cinebench R15

STH-Patrick broke an absolute record using two AMD EPYC 7742 server processors in Cinebench R15. The 7nm EPYC "Rome" chips are now appearing on HWBot.

The brand-new 7nm EPYC "Rome" processors, introduced just a few days ago, are already popping up in the HWBot database. Among the first results is an absolute record set by STH-Patrick, an American enthusiast and employee of ServeTheHome.

According to the result page, HWBot can't yet correctly identify the new CPU. However, that hasn't stopped it from taking the top spot in the world rankings.

Based on the CPU-z validation, the processors were running close to their average clocks of 2800MHz. The EPYC 7742, for reference, has a nominal clock speed of 2250MHz and a maximum boost of 3400MHz.

Other components of the server setup include 512GB of memory: 16 sticks of Micron 32GB DDR4 3200 (part number 36ASF4G72PZ-3G2E2).

This is likely just the beginning, and we can expect a wave of new world records in all multi-threaded benchmarks going forward.
