The Solstice of Heroes event is back in Destiny 2 on August 11. Players can look forward to upgrading armor that remains relevant for a year and new Eververse items.
Following Bungie's annual tradition, the Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes event returns at the end of summer. This event brings back the unique European Aerial Zone map, where players will battle hordes of enemies for valuable rewards. Just like last year, Bungie is offering players exclusive Solstice armor sets for their collections.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИEach armor piece has several quality tiers that players will need to upgrade. This involves completing both easier activities (for the initial armor levels) and more challenging ones like Nightfalls, Raids, and similar content.
Here's what Bungie says about it on the game's official website:
As before, you start with a Rare armor set and upgrade it to a Legendary “Majestic” set. Once you've collected all the Legendary gear, you can begin the final set of objectives to upgrade the armor to the “Magnificent” level. Here's the list of objectives:
Complete a Nightfall: The Ordeal on Master difficulty.
Complete a Nightmare Hunt.
Complete the Pit of Heresy.
Win seven Trials of Osiris matches (not necessarily on a single Passage).
Complete Tier 5 of the Altars of Sorrow three times.
As you can see from the list, some challenges will be quite difficult without reliable teammates. So, if you're interested in maxing out your armor, we recommend finding some new Guardian comrades or convincing long-dormant friends to jump back into the game.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИBungie also states that this year's armor will genuinely be relevant, allowing Guardians to use it all year until the next Solstice of Heroes in 2021:
When we created the 2020 Solstice of Heroes armor, we wanted to make it more interesting to earn than in previous years. No more major armor refreshes will happen, so your collected Majestic armor set will remain relevant for an entire year — until next year's similar event. We've also turned elemental glows into a universal ornament, so you can now apply it to any of your armor, including your best sets.
That's incredible news!
Besides the event itself, Bungie is offering an expanded Eververse store selection, available only during the event:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИWhat's more, this time, the unique items are genuinely interesting. During the event, any Solstice of Heroes-related item—except for the 'Iron Severance' finishing move—can be purchased with both Silver and Bright Dust!
Based on the initial information, the Solstice of Heroes 2020 should be far more engaging and, crucially, more beneficial for Guardians than, say, the 2019 iteration — at least if we're to believe the development studio.
