The Ryzen 9 3900 chip with a 65-watt TDP has been confirmed. It features 12 cores and 24 threads but comes with lower clock speeds compared to the 3900X. Expect its debut in November.
Back in July, we reported on the possible launch of a Ryzen 9 3900 chip without the "X" suffix, sporting a 65-watt TDP. Today, that information has received its first concrete confirmation.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИSupport for the Ryzen 9 3900 chip was included in the latest BIOS update for the Biostar X470NH motherboard.
Like the Ryzen 9 3900X, its younger sibling, the Ryzen 9 3900, still features 12 cores and 24 threads. However, to achieve that 65-watt TDP, its clock speeds are slightly reduced: a base clock of 3100MHz and a boost up to 4300MHz. For comparison, the Ryzen 9 3900X runs at 3800/4600MHz. The rest of the processor's specifications remain identical to its higher-tier counterpart.
All that remains is to determine the price of the new CPU. However, given its unique specifications, it's unlikely to be cheap.
It's highly probable that the new chip will debut in November, alongside the ultimate Ryzen 9 3950X.
