RPCS3 now runs Metal Gear Solid 4 at 4K/60 FPS, all thanks to Vblank and Zcull. Developers are currently tackling crashes that occur when frame rates drop to 24 FPS.
The boosted performance comes from setting Vblank to 240 in the advanced settings, which bypasses the game's forced synchronization. Additionally, Zcull was disabled by editing the emulator's settings. While not recommended for other games, this particular tweak works wonders for MGS4.
However, there are still sections in the game where the engine deliberately drops the frame rate to 24 FPS, causing the emulator to crash.
The developers are optimistic they can resolve these issues soon.
