Xbox head Phil Spencer recently spoke with Kotaku about the outlook for the Xbox Series S, and addressed gamer concerns that the budget console might hold back graphical progress in next-gen titles.

I think price is going to matter a lot this generation, and we'll see the Series S sell more.
The Xbox boss doesn't believe that having a lower-spec console in the next-gen lineup will hold back game development. However, he fully understands that optimizing for an additional hardware configuration will make things a bit harder for developers.
