Phil Spencer: The cheaper Xbox Series S will outsell the Series X this generation
Phil Spencer believes the Xbox Series S will outsell the flagship Series X and won't hold back game graphics.
Xbox head Phil Spencer recently spoke with Kotaku about the outlook for the Xbox Series S, and addressed gamer concerns that the budget console might hold back graphical progress in next-gen titles.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИSpencer believes the more affordable Xbox Series S will be the main sales driver, easily outpacing its more powerful sibling, the Xbox Series X. He's also confident that console demand will vastly outstrip supply this holiday season.
I think price is going to matter a lot this generation, and we'll see the Series S sell more.
The Xbox boss doesn't believe that having a lower-spec console in the next-gen lineup will hold back game development. However, he fully understands that optimizing for an additional hardware configuration will make things a bit harder for developers.
