The Korean overclocker Safedisk has recently updated his profile photo, which has not been changed for more than 10 years. At the same time, the enthusiast managed to get a rather significant result: the first place in the 16-core ranking.
By overclocking the semi-professional Xeon w5 2465X chip (Sapphire Rapids, Intel 7, 16 cores / 32 threads) to 5300MHz, Safedisk was able to beat the Ryzen 9 7950X, which was overclocked to 6150MHz, in the y-cruncher – Pi-1b discipline. Of course, the fight was unequal, because Xeon has both quad-channel DDR5 memory and a more advanced controller.

Safedisk
The basis of the test setup was the top-of-the-line ASUS Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE motherboard, and Safedisk chose a set of 4 G.SKILL Zeta R5 modules as the RAM.
This is an extremely significant result, as it directly demonstrates the potential of the LGA4677 platform on the competitive stage.
It should be noted that Sapphire Rapids chips are based on the Golden Cove microarchitecture, which is also used by Alder Lake desktop processors.
