NVIDIA isn't releasing LHR versions of its GeForce RTX 30 Founders Edition graphics cards, meaning buyers will miss out on the chance to grab them at MSRP.
NVIDIA recently announced "anti-mining" versions of its GeForce RTX 3000 LHR graphics cards, which feature reduced Ethereum mining hash rates. This naturally raised a question: Will the unique "NVIDIA Founders Edition" models also be updated to the LHR "Lite Hash Rate" versions?
Well, according to official NVIDIA representatives, it seems the green giant has no plans to release "Founders Edition LHR" models:
Founders Edition cards are limited production products sold at MSRP, and currently, we don't have plans to release LHR versions of Founders Edition cards.
This is rather disappointing news because lately, the "Founders Edition" series has been the only way to buy GeForce RTX graphics cards at their recommended retail prices.
It's likely just not profitable for NVIDIA to produce its own cards. Given the mining craze, from a business perspective, it's far more logical to sell GPUs to its manufacturing partners like ASUS, GIGABYTE, and MSI.
