Leaked details for AMD's Raphael (Zen 4, AM5) reveal up to 16 5nm cores and integrated NAVI2 graphics. Don't expect a launch before H2 2022.
The YouTube channel Gamers Nexus (with 1.38 million subscribers) today published some rather intriguing information about an unannounced AMD product codenamed 'Raphael,' based on the Zen 4 architecture.
According to the YouTube host, this information arrived at the channel's office last year. Back then, the Gamers Nexus team thought it was just a 'hoax' and declined to publish any unconfirmed details. However, recent leaks from the highly respected ExecutableFix about LGA 1718 (AM5) and further details on the 'Raphael' chips have now prompted Gamers Nexus to share a slide that had been 'gathering dust' on their drives.

The slide published below suggests Raphael processors will indeed feature one or two 8-core, 16-thread Zen 4 CCDs, fabricated on TSMC's N5 (5nm) process. Additionally, the cIOD (client IO Die) will transition from 12nm to TSMC's N7 (7nm). The leaked slide also corroborates earlier rumors that Raphael chips will integrate NAVI2 graphics:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИShould this information prove accurate, the core count for AMD's flagship desktop processors will remain at 16 with the new generation.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИAs of now, there's no specific information about the release date for the AM5 platform or its compatible Zen 4 processors. Our international colleagues are only certain that we shouldn't expect the AM5 platform and its new CPUs until the second half of 2022. This makes sense, especially considering an updated lineup of Zen 3 chips with 3D V-Cache technology is still on the way before Zen 4.
