Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 7 on January 14. For better security, users should upgrade to Windows 10. Google Chrome will continue supporting Windows 7 until July 2021.
As of yesterday, January 14, Microsoft has officially ended technical support for its incredibly popular Windows 7 operating system.
Microsoft urged all remaining Windows 7 users to upgrade to the latest Windows 10, as the older OS will no longer receive security updates or fixes starting January 14.
While your Windows 7 PC won't stop working after support ends on January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide technical support for any issues, software updates, or security updates and fixes. You can continue using your Windows 7 computer, but without software and security updates, you face an increased risk from viruses and malware. Ultimately, upgrading to Windows 10 is the best way to protect yourself. Experience the benefits of Windows 10 on new devices. While you can install Windows 10 on an older device, we don't recommend it.
Incidentally, following this news, Google announced that support for the Chrome browser on Windows 7 will continue until July 15, 2021.
