British overclocker RSR has broken two world records using an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X CPU in wPrime and Cinebench R15 benchmarks.
For a while, the enthusiast buzz around 3rd-gen Ryzen Threadripper CPUs had largely died down. For about two weeks, the previous record holders on these chips had sat comfortably on their pedestals.
However, that peace couldn't last forever. British overclocker under the nickname RSR got his hands on an excellent AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X sample and used it to surpass his peers in the model-specific and 24-core categories of wPrime - 1024m and Cinebench - R15 benchmarks:

⤢ ВІДКРИТИIn wPrime - 1024m, the chip's frequency was 4475.1 MHz, resulting in a final time of 23 seconds and 342 milliseconds.

⤢ ВІДКРИТИFor Cinebench - R15, the frequency dropped slightly to 4474 MHz (most likely a CPU-Z measurement error rather than an intentional downclock by the overclocker), achieving a score of 6827 points.
RSR's test bench comprised the following components:
Motherboard - ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme
RAM - G.SKILL TridentZ RGB F4-4266C17-8GTZR (4x 8GB sticks)
PSU - SuperNOVA T2 1200W
Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Kingpin Edition
