The refreshed LGA2066 platform launches next month, and if Intel's claims are accurate, its new processors will deliver 1.74-2.09 times more performance per dollar than current Skylake-X solutions. It's unclear if this comparison refers to the 9th or 7th generation.
The new HEDT platform will still offer the same core count as the Skylake-X architecture, which tops out at 18 cores.
Intel also compares the upcoming platform to AMD's Ryzen Threadripper 2000 series:
