Here are some of the key changes and improvements:
Stability and performance
While these changes apply to all platforms, they'll be most noticeable on last-gen hardware and lower-performance systems.
Improved overall stability and performance of the game and rendering engines. This should significantly reduce unexpected game crashes.
Optimized and enhanced memory usage algorithms, further reducing game crashes.
Multiple optimizations and improvements to shadows, shaders, physics, and systems responsible for world streaming, object spawning, scenes, animation (including facial animation), and occlusion.
Fixed the memory handling algorithm for UI icon tables. This should reduce memory-related crashes, especially during extended play sessions.
Enhanced UI stability and addressed several common UI errors that could lead to crashes.
Resolved various crash-inducing errors, including those tied to the settings menu, save loading, and graphics card utilization.
Implemented several UI performance enhancements.
Fixed an issue where rapid controller button presses could drastically lower performance and lead to item duplication glitches.
Resolved a bug causing corrupted map detection markers on systems with low-performance hard drives.
Applied various other performance and stability improvements.
PC-specific changes
Ray tracing is now enabled on AMD graphics cards. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed.
More keyboard keys are now available for custom keybindings.
You can now bind keys to toggle specific panels open and closed with a single button press.
A new PC control setting allows disabling dodging via directional keys. If enabled, you'll need to double-tap the crouch button (C by default) to dodge.
Players can now access the journal directly from the map using the keyboard.
Achievements are now live on the Epic Games Store.
A new 'mod' folder has been added for mod archives. These archives can be named arbitrarily and must now reside in the 'mod' folder, no longer the 'patch' folder.
Fixed a bug preventing grenades from being recharged after exiting dialogue by pressing the Esc key.
Resolved an issue where certain environmental elements displayed incorrectly on 8K resolution displays.
Fixed a bug that caused UI elements to disappear at 8K resolution.
Addressed an error where ability descriptions failed to appear in a specific menu area at 4K and 5K UltraWide resolutions.
