All MSI 400-series motherboards will support AMD Ryzen 5000 Zen 3 CPUs

In an official press release, MSI confirmed that its entire lineup of 400-series motherboards will support AMD's Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 desktop processors.

MSI reassured customers that its X470 and B450 motherboards are fully covered. The entire 400-series lineup will support AMD Ryzen 5000 desktop processors, which launch on November 5, 2020. However, there's a catch: the BIOS updates for 400-series boards won't arrive until January 2021, so anyone planning to drop a Ryzen 5000 chip into an older board will have to wait a bit.

As for older 300-series boards (including X370, B350, and A320), AMD's official stance is clear: the company has no plans to support them. That said, if AMD changes its mind, MSI says it will do its best to provide timely BIOS updates for its 300-series boards as well.
