MSI has confirmed Ryzen 5000 support for its X470 and B450 motherboards, but the required BIOS updates won't arrive until January 2021.
In an official press release, MSI confirmed that its entire lineup of 400-series motherboards will support AMD's Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 desktop processors.
MSI reassured customers that its X470 and B450 motherboards are fully covered. The entire 400-series lineup will support AMD Ryzen 5000 desktop processors, which launch on November 5, 2020. However, there's a catch: the BIOS updates for 400-series boards won't arrive until January 2021, so anyone planning to drop a Ryzen 5000 chip into an older board will have to wait a bit.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИAs for older 300-series boards (including X370, B350, and A320), AMD's official stance is clear: the company has no plans to support them. That said, if AMD changes its mind, MSI says it will do its best to provide timely BIOS updates for its 300-series boards as well.
