Unconfirmed reports suggest the remake will use The Last of Us Part II's engine, meaning it'll get a host of graphical improvements, including new models, textures, and enhanced lighting.
For context, the original The Last of Us launched way back in 2013, exclusively for the PlayStation 3. It earned widespread critical acclaim from both the gaming press and players, cementing its place as one of the titles that elevated the PS3 to legendary status and fostered many gamers' loyalty to Sony consoles.
