NVIDIA is reportedly releasing the budget-friendly GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER (with GDDR6) and GTX 1650 Ti graphics cards in October. Neither will support ray tracing.
NVIDIA is reportedly preparing two new cards for an October launch: the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER and GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. Both graphics cards are expected to compete in the budget segment against AMD's upcoming Navi 14-based lineup, also anticipated next month.
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER will see an upgrade to GDDR6 memory. GPU specifications remain unchanged from the standard GTX 1660, featuring 1408 CUDA cores, 80 TMUs (texture mapping units), and 48 ROPs (render output units). Clock speeds for the new card are currently unknown, but they'll likely be slightly higher.
We also don't know the price of the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER. However, we can speculate it'll cost around $250.
The second graphics card NVIDIA is working on is the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. While we don't have its exact specifications, based on the GeForce GTX 1650, the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti might feature 1024 CUDA cores, 32 ROPs, and 64 TMUs.
The graphics card will likely feature 4GB of 128-bit GDDR5 memory, clocked at 8000MHz.
Both cards are expected to deliver about a 15% performance boost compared to their "vanilla" counterparts.
Neither graphics card will support ray tracing. This is ironic, given that NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently claimed (note: requires English knowledge for full context) that buying a graphics card without this technology in 2019 would be 'insane'.
So, how insane are you?
