Rumors suggest Intel's 10th-gen Core i5 processors will feature 6 cores and Hyper Threading (12 threads), similar to 8th-gen Core i7 chips. 10th-gen Core i7s might offer 8 cores/16 threads.
Following the Core i3, it seems Intel will add Hyper Threading to the Core i5 lineup as well. Recently, an unknown 10th-gen Core processor engineering sample appeared in the SiSoftware database.
This CPU's core configuration turned out to be extremely similar to 8th-gen Core i7 processors. In other words, 6 cores and 12 threads. This is the primary evidence suggesting the engineering sample belongs to the Core i5 lineup. Current Core i7s are 8-core chips without multi-threading support. We can only speculate here.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThere's a high probability this is indeed a new Core i5. If this leak is confirmed, we can expect Core i5s with a 6-core, 12-thread configuration and Core i7s with 8 cores and 16 threads.
We recently reported on the Core i3-10100 featuring a 4-core, 8-thread configuration.
Of course, we'll need to wait for the 10th-gen Core i7's full technical specifications; however, given the pressure from AMD, i7s will likely also gain HT. This way, Intel could genuinely slow down the 'red team' and reclaim lost market share.
