The first benchmarks for AMD's upcoming 12-core Ryzen 9 5900X have surfaced online, showing a massive leap in performance.
First, we don't have absolute proof that this is indeed a 24-thread Zen 3 processor, aside from the CPU identifier "100-000000061-08", which has been linked to Ryzen 5000 chips since last week. So, it's best to take these numbers with a grain of salt.

⤢ ВІДКРИТИSeveral insiders have reported that the 12-core, 24-thread Ryzen 9 5900X was benchmarked in CPU-Z, allegedly scoring 652.8 points in the single-thread test and 9,481.8 points in multi-thread. And damn, that is 20.3% and 14.4% faster, respectively, than the current 12-core, 24-thread Ryzen 9 3900X!
Unfortunately, we don't know the clock speeds or architectural improvements of this Zen 3 chip compared to Zen 2 yet.
According to current reports, AMD will officially unveil the Ryzen 5000 series on October 8. Rumors also suggest the first processors won't hit shelves until October 20, meaning the October 8 event will be an announcement only.
Additionally, the budget 5600X and flagship 5950X are expected to launch much later.
