MSI confirms Ryzen 4000 (Zen 3) support. X470 and B450 motherboards get BIOS updates; X570 and B550 are already compatible. X370, B350, and A320 are left out.
Just a few hours ago, MSI held an MSI Insider briefing where company representatives detailed which of its AM4 motherboards will support the upcoming AMD Ryzen 4000 processors, based on the Zen 3 architecture.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИAccording to a slide from the briefing, all AMD X470 and B450 chipset motherboards will gain Zen 3 processor support via a BIOS update. However, MSI (along with nearly all other manufacturers) is leaving X370, B350, and A320 boards behind, meaning these older chipsets won't support new CPUs.

Furthermore, Michiel Berkhout stated that in some instances, updating the BIOS for Zen 3 support will remove compatibility with Zen and Zen+ architecture processors (Ryzen 1000 and 2000 series).
As for new X570 and B550 chipset motherboards, users shouldn't encounter any compatibility issues with Zen 3 chips when purchasing these devices.
