Microsoft is testing Xbox Console Streaming, a feature that streams games from your console to Android devices. Play your Xbox titles anywhere in your home, but remember a strong internet connection is key. It's free.
Microsoft is once again expanding its Xbox console's capabilities. This time, the Redmond giant is letting users seamlessly stream installed games from their home console to an Android phone or tablet. It's essentially a take on Steam Link or PlayStation 4 Remote Play.
Once the extensive testing for this new feature concludes, Xbox gamers will truly be untethered from their console's location. They'll be able to play their favorite games in the kitchen, or anywhere else they find comfortable.
However, this technology demands a robust internet connection, meaning its practical use might be limited to a relatively confined area like an apartment or private home.
For the record, Xbox Console Streaming will be a completely free service upon its release.
