New insider data suggests Intel's DG2-448EU GPU will compete with the RTX 3070 and RX 6700 XT, while the DG2-512EU could rival the RTX 3080. Expect a launch this year.
Reliable insiderTUM_APISAK is once again fueling interest in the "blue giant's" upcoming graphics cards. The Thai source shared snippets of data on the current performance of an unknown Intel graphics adapter on their Twitter account.
According to the publication, the tested graphics card is based on the DG2-448EU GPU, which features 448 execution units operating at 1800MHz:

If the source is accurate, the engineering sample of the DG2-448EU chip can deliver performance levels comparable to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 and AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics cards, which is quite impressive. What's more, given that this GPU is a cut-down version of the full DG2-512EU chip, there's a good chance its "big brother" could compete with cards like the RTX 3080 and RX 6800 XT.
Right now, information about DG2-448EU and DG2-512EU-based graphics cards is fairly scarce. The only firm detail is that the top-tier DG2-512EU-based device will feature 16GB of GDDR6 memory.
Beyond the premium-class GPUs mentioned above, Intel also plans to release mid-range and entry-level graphics processors, the DG2-384 and DG2-128.
Preliminary information suggests that the first DG2-512EU-based devices should arrive this year, while the remaining cards, including budget options, won't hit shelves until Q1 2022.
