Reliable rumors point to the top-tier iPhone 15 being branded 'Ultra' instead of 'Pro Max'. This move fits Apple's strategy, hinting at major upgrades.
Rumors have been circulating for a while that the Cupertino company's next flagship smartphone model will drop the "Pro Max" suffix in favor of "Ultra." However, these claims weren't particularly substantiated and largely came from less-than-reliable sources.
Now, a much more reliable source is behind the latest surge of rumors about a potential iPhone 15 Ultra. Journalist Andrew O'Hara (Andrew O'Hara) shared the following on his Twitter account:

Several sources have told me that Apple will indeed use the 'iPhone 15 Ultra' name for its top-tier phone. This was previously just a rumor that was debunked. Since then, most have been calling it the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Overall, this step feels quite logical to us. Apple already has the Apple Watch Ultra smartwatch and the powerful M2 Ultra SoC. Thus, the iPhone transitioning from Pro Max to Ultra makes for an excellent branding decision.
What's more, according to recent information, Cupertino engineers have significantly improved their flagship smartphone model. Rumors suggest the iPhone 15 Ultra will get a larger display, a more capacious battery, and a periscopic zoom lens. With these specs, the Ultra suffix seems fully justified.
