GSC Game World has confirmed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 won't release on PS4 or Xbox One. The studio states last-gen consoles simply can't handle the game, calling it a 'new generation' title.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 developer GSC Game World has announced the reason their highly anticipated project won't be coming to last-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One: simply, those devices lack the necessary performance.
"S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 simply cannot run on PS4 and Xbox One." It's "a next-gen game."
⤢ ВІДКРИТИIf the developers' claims about "a next-gen game" hold true, then we can likely expect truly advanced graphics, effects, and interesting gameplay solutions once again, just like with the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. (The first three installments of the Ukrainian shooter famously introduced volumetric fog, deferred shading, and a host of other minor innovations.)
On a related note, GSC Game World also recently revealed that over 300 people are currently working on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. However, as we've learned from several projects last year (without naming names), that number says absolutely nothing about the final quality of the game.
