Early pricing for the GeForce RTX 3060 has surfaced online, and thanks to the mining boom, retail prices are already soaring way past the recommended $329 MSRP.
The relatively affordable GeForce RTX 3060 is set to debut in late February at $329. NVIDIA has officially confirmed there are no plans to release a reference model for the RTX 3060, unlike the RTX 3090, 3080, 3070, and 3060 Ti. This means we'll only see GA106-based cards from board partners like ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE, and KFA2.
However, with the ongoing crypto mining boom, gamers are highly unlikely to find the GeForce RTX 3060 at its $329 MSRP. UK retailer CCL Computers has already listed several prices—whether by accident or on purpose—for the highly anticipated GPU:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИAnd honestly, the starting price of £469 for the entry-level ASUS model is shocking (around $641 / 18,080 UAH / 48,280 RUB). That's putting it mildly, since for that kind of cash, you could buy a next-gen console like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. Think about it: for the price of a relatively modest GPU, you get a complete gaming system with ray tracing, an SSD, exclusive games, a controller, and subscription services with free monthly titles.
But I digress.
Apart from the shocking price, sharp-eyed readers have likely noticed that the RTX 3060 is priced dangerously close to the slightly faster RTX 3060 Ti, which will undoubtedly confuse buyers.
Granted, these are speculative prices, and things might improve by launch day. But with the ongoing mining craze, we wouldn't hold our breath.
