Destiny 2's new season pass sees major changes

It looks like Destiny 2's Year 3 Season Pass won't be a mandatory purchase. If you're not looking to drop a large sum of cash upfront, Bungie has some decent options. For instance, each of the four planned seasons (matching Year 2's cadence) will be available individually for around €10 — though expect that price to potentially creep up a bit. The first season is already bundled with the Shadowkeep license, which you can pre-order on Steam.

Honestly, this is a pretty contentious change. Bungie previously offered massive discounts, up to 70%, on the 'classic' seasonal pass. With this clearer separation into individual seasons, those generous sales might become a thing of the past.

On the flip side, the developers assure us that this year will bring significantly more content. If that holds true, then a slight overpay for an expanded Destiny 2 universe might just be worth it.
