Cyberpunk 2077's massive Patch 2.0 has arrived, getting the game ready for the 'Phantom Liberty' DLC. It revamps the police system, talent trees, and core engine mechanics.
The highly anticipated 2.0 update for the iconic game Cyberpunk 2077 is now available for download on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S!
This patch, like all its predecessors, is completely free. It aims to prepare the game for its first and only paid expansion, "Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty."
This update introduces a vast array of changes and new features, ranging from a complete overhaul of Night City's police system and a redesigned talent tree to significant modifications under the hood of the REDEngine game engine. The developers themselves confirm that the game now requires an 8-core processor for stable operation, a bump up from the previous 6-core requirement.
The complete patch notes for Update 2.0 are available via this link on the official Cyberpunk 2077 website.
As a reminder, the "Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty" story expansion itself launches on September 26th and will be the last for the original game. However, this doesn't mean CDPR is finished with the Cyberpunk universe. Once the DLC is complete, the team will embark on the unhurried development of a sequel, which, based on recent statements, will switch to Unreal Engine 5 as its game engine.
