AMD releases Radeon Adrenalin 2020 21.5.2 drivers with Days Gone optimizations

The latest AMD Radeon Adrenalin 2020 21.5.2 drivers primarily feature software optimizations for Days Gone, alongside support for Microsoft DirectX 12 Agility SDK and Microsoft Shader Model. You can read more about this on AMD's official website here.

Additional changes and fixes address shadow corruption on Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards when ray tracing is enabled in Cyberpunk 2077. The update also resolves an intermittent signal loss bug during AMD Link stream optimization, which occurred when using the HEVC video codec on Radeon RX 5000 series products or newer.

One known, unaddressed issue is the intermittent freezing experienced in Resident Evil Village's first mission on AMD Radeon VII graphics cards.

Fixed issues

• Using the factory reset option when uninstalling or updating Radeon Software may remove AMD chipset driver folders if they're stored in the same directory as the Radeon Software installation. Users who want to perform a factory reset should use the latest AMD cleanup utility.

• Cyberpunk 2077™ could exhibit shadow corruption on Radeon RX 6000 series graphics when ray tracing is enabled.

• Intermittent signal loss during AMD Link stream optimization when using HEVC on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products or newer.

• Ryzen Master download or launch buttons in Radeon Software might intermittently disappear or fail to initialize Ryzen Master.

• FPS logging could be inaccurate or fail to record on Ryzen™ Mobile 4000 and Ryzen™ Mobile 5000 series.

• Radeon Software might crash when using the Record & Stream tab if a display is connected without a system restart.

Known issues

• Radeon™ Software might fail to update on Windows 7 platforms when upgrading from 21.4.1 or 21.5.2 to this release if a factory reset is enabled. As a workaround, users who want to perform a factory reset should use the latest AMD cleanup utility.

• Resident Evil Village™ may experience intermittent application hangs or TDRs on AMD Radeon VII graphics products during the game's first mission.

• Enhanced Sync can cause a black screen when enabled in some games and system configurations. Any users experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.

• Connecting two displays with significant differences in resolution/refresh rate might cause flickering on Radeon RX Vega series graphics products.

• Radeon performance metrics and logging features could intermittently report extremely high and incorrect memory clock values.

• Radeon FreeSync™ might intermittently lock on the desktop after task switching between extended and primary displays once a game closes, leading to low performance or stuttering. A system restart is a potential workaround if this occurs.

• If Ryzen Master isn't detected in Adrenalin Software after installation, a system restart may be required.

• If blue or black screens are observed on mobile systems, temporarily disable extended input.
