The AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT will reportedly launch in two variants, offering either 6GB or 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM. This unusual move for AMD is backed by recent ASUS leaks.
It looks like AMD is following NVIDIA's playbook, preparing two different chip and memory configurations for the upcoming RX 5600 XT, much like NVIDIA did with the GTX 1060 and GTX 1660 graphics cards.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИEarlier rumors suggested the Radeon RX 5600 XT would feature 6GB of memory and a 192-bit interface, but new information indicates AMD's plans have changed drastically.
According to fresh rumors, the first RX 5600 XT variant will feature 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, likely connected to the GPU via a 256-bit bus. The second, however, will be limited to 6GB of the same GDDR6, and its memory interface will likely be cut to 192-bit. Such a move is highly unusual for AMD, but these rumors are indirectly confirmed by leaked names for non-reference ASUS RX 5600 series graphics cards:
