Microsoft is planning a major Windows 10 interface update codenamed Sun Valley, featuring a refreshed Start menu and new design options.
Next year, Microsoft plans to launch Windows 10X, a lightweight, modular, and more affordable version of its familiar operating system. While this alternative OS is known to offer a simpler, more consistent user interface, the latest reports suggest a similar UI overhaul is also coming to the standard Windows 10.
Microsoft is currently planning a major Windows 10 update codenamed "Sun Valley." It will bring massive changes to the Start menu, alongside a revamped File Explorer and updated built-in apps.
Interestingly, Microsoft will likely make this visual redesign optional, at least for some elements. This should let users easily toggle between the old and new looks, avoiding the kind of transition shock we saw back when Microsoft jumped from Windows 7 to Windows 8.
