Australian overclocker unityofsaints has set several new records with the Intel Core i5 4690K processor. This CPU belongs to the not-so-successful Haswell family on the LGA 1150 socket. However, unityofsaints overcame the main drawback of this generation by "delidding" the processor and removing its integrated heat spreader.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe enthusiast managed to keep the processor stable at frequencies up to 6219 MHz for results in the disciplines PiFast and SuperPi - 1M, and 6199 MHz for SuperPi - 32M. These are exceptionally high figures. Most likely, the processor was binned from dozens, if not hundreds, of chips.

⤢ ВІДКРИТИTo achieve such impressive results, unityofsaints naturally used liquid nitrogen. The test bench also featured an ASRock Z97 OC Formula motherboard, Corsair Dominator GTX3 RAM overclocked to 2854 MHz with 9-12-12-26-128-2T timings. For video output, a "placeholder" GIGABYTE GeForce GT 730 graphics card was used.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИI'd venture to guess that unityofsaints will return to the Core i5 4690K in the future. The overclocker only secured 4th place in the Cinebench R11.5 model ranking. The processor frequency dropped to 5830 MHz, resulting in 10.02 points:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИEven more frustrating, he took 2nd place in Cinebench R15 with a score of 934 points, achieved at a frequency of 5872 MHz:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe Australian enthusiast had a rather productive benchmark session. Now, he just needs to grab the remaining couple of first-place spots in the rendering benchmarks.
