Overclocker Splave added two new gold trophies to his collection, dominating the 8-core GPUPI for CPU 1B and 18-core Cinebench R20 categories with the help of liquid nitrogen.
American enthusiast Splave has practically dominated the front page of the HWBot overclocking database recently, using his favorite Ryzen 7 5800X and Core i9-10980XE chips. Just last week, he set records in HWBOT x265 Benchmark — 4k with a Ryzen 7 5800X@6000MHz chip and in Cinebench - R20 with a Core i9-10980XE@5877MHz processor. Today, he's back with two more results on the same CPUs, but this time, the overclocker focused on different disciplines.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИArmed with liquid nitrogen, Splave overclocked the Core i9-10980XE processor to 5887MHz, successfully completing the Cinebench - R20 benchmark with a score of 13792 points.
This result secured Splave a podium spot in both the model-specific leaderboard for the Core i9-10980XE and the overall 18-core ranking for the Cinebench - R20 discipline.
Immediately after this, the enthusiast tackled the Ryzen 7 5800X chip. Splave once again resorted to his usual liquid nitrogen cooling method, pushing the 8-core AMD processor to an impressive 6100MHz. This is an incredibly strong frequency for the 7nm Zen 3 architecture, so credit where credit is due — the American did a truly amazing job.
The outcome of the overclocker's Ryzen 7 5800X experiments was a time of 55 seconds, 712 milliseconds. This secured him first place in both the model-specific and 8-core rankings for the GPUPI for CPU - 1B discipline.
The enthusiast's test bench consisted of the following components:
Motherboards — ASRock AQUA X570 (AMD platform) and ASRock X299 OC Formula (Intel platform);
RAM — 4x 8GB G.SKILL TridentZ NEO 3800C14 (AMD platform) and 4x 8GB G.SKILL RoyalZ F4-4400C16-8GTRS (Intel platform);
PSU — Enermax Maxtytan 1250W;
Thermal paste — Thermal Grizzly Extreme.
