Overclocker Splave pushed a Core i9-10980XE to an impressive 5877 MHz, claiming the top spot in the 18-core category of the Cinebench R20 benchmark.
Honestly, after nearly half a year of silence, it seemed like American overclocker Splave had forgotten about his beloved LGA2066 socket and wouldn't be returning to the platform, preferring the relatively newer LGA1200 and AM4 instead. However, a fresh result from the American surfaced today on the front page of the HWBot overclocking database. It featured a Core i9-10980XE chip and the enthusiast's near-constant companion: an ASRock X299 OC Formula motherboard.
Armed with a liquid nitrogen pot, Splave pushed the Core i9-10980XE processor to an impressive 5877 MHz — a 95.92% increase over its stock speed, especially significant for such a high-core-count chip. He then successfully completed the popular Cinebench - R20 benchmark with a score of 13,761 points:
These figures secure the top spot in the Core i9-10980XE processor's model ranking, as well as gold in the 18-core category.
Splave's test bench consisted of the following components:
Motherboard — ASRock X299 OC Formula;
RAM — 4x 8GB G.SKILL RoyalZ F4-4400C16-8GTRS modules
Power supply — Enermax Maxtytan 1250W.
